Installation
Before installation the pillow should be patted down to evenly distribute its
contents. The pillow should be installed so that the longest dimension forms the
depth of the seal and all joints should be staggered. In trunking the pillow
should be placed on top of the cables and should fit the trunking but allowing
for free air movement so as not to impair the rating of the cables.
If installing pillows in a floor opening it will be necessary to use a mesh
support. The mesh can be easily fitted to the soffit around the penetration,
this provides support for the pillow under normal condition and during a fire. A
second mesh is recommended to be fitted over the top of the penetration to
protect the pillows against unauthorised removal.
Health And Safety
Care should be taken to avoid puncturing the pillow as dust generated may
cause irritation to skin or eyes. Wear gloves and dust mask if handling damaged
pillows. Keep out of reach of children.
Normal good industrial and personal hygiene practise should be observed.
