Zeroflame Fire Retardant Treatment achieves Class 1 only, on veneer and plywood laminates, the bonding glues resisting penetration. If Class 0 is required on such materials, Zeroflame Fire Retardant Intumescent Varnish is recommended (internal use only)

Zeroflame Intumescent Fire Retardant Varnish consists of a two pack water borne base coat,  and a solvent based finish coat available in Matt, Satin, or Gloss. Successfully tested to BS476: Part6&7 (1987) achieving Class O and Class 1 flame spread and fire propagation on internal wooden surfaces.

Suitable for use in public buildings, schools, housing, shopping centres, restaurants, banks, churches and for walls and ceilings in escape routes where timber or wood derivatives are used, suitable for most types of softwood and hardwood in new and existing structures. Can be applied by brush, roller or spray.

When attacked by fire, Zeroflame Varnish will retard the spread of flame and reduce the contribution the substrate would normally make should fire occur, the varnish expands to form an insulating layer of non-combustible rigid foam which stops the spread of flame across the surface and reduces the release of combustible gasses.

Zeroflame Fire Retardant Paint is a water based intumescent emulsion coating in a matt White finish that can be used by itself or beneath other decorative finishes to achieve both Class O and Class 1 fire protection on internal timber surfaces.

Suitable for use in public buildings, schools, housing, shopping centres, restaurants, banks, churches and for walls and ceilings in escape routes where timber or wood derivatives are used, has been tested to BS476 Parts 6&7 (1987) on such materials as softwoods, hardwoods, plywood, MDF, pre-painted fibre insulation board, plasterboard, etc in new and existing structures. Can be applied by brush, roller or spray.

Under test, no loss of performance has been recorded when Zeroflame Fire Retardant Paint has been overcoated with up to three coats of acrylic or latex finishes. It can be applied over sound existing paintwork, however, where it is intended to use the product on previously painted surfaces the Building Owner, Specifier and Contractor would have to decide on the suitability of the surface, if there is any  doubt regarding the adhesion of previously applied finishes these must be completely removed by stripping or sanding.
